Bill, are you using the filters that came with your DSL equipment? They're
little black things that go between the wall and your phone  (my wife
thought we were being spied on when she found it -- looks like a fabled
"black box"). If you don't have any, I can send you a spare one to see if
that fixes the problem. Otherwise, take it up with USWest, that's
definitely a problem they need to address. It could also be a non-DSL
problem -- if it's just "certain" long distance calls, then those
"certain" people could have some bad wiring between themselves and you.
