You could try to telnet into the printer and disable the banner page
that way.

Yea, the printer will only accept 1 job at a time. The rest will wait
until the printer is free. This can cause problems though cause it is
possible for a job to be 'waiting' for a long time if other jobs keep
beating it to the printer. I would recommend a print server to queue the
jobs up and create some order in all the chaos.

Actually it works pretty well. We have a few servers that spool to our
central server. They are HP-UX machines, but it shouldn't matter if
they're HP, Solaris, or Linux. I even tried to spool jobs from our NT
print server to our HP-UX print server. Worked great.
