Carl,

What does your smb.conf look like (please sanitize it if you are
connected to the internet)? Having that information will go a long way
toward helping you out.

Isn't SID an NT domain security thing? If you don't need domain logons
and things like that, don't use them. Some things are only for NT
clients and I haven't had the greatest luck with some of them (meaning:
turning them off made things work).
