XFree86-3.3.5, Slackware 4.0 and glibc-2.1.1
Has anybody tried compiling XFree86-3.3.5 under Slackware 4.0 against the
glibc-2.1.1 libraries? I have been trying for a long time to get a solid
glibc-2.1.x system starting from Slackware 3.6 or 4.0. I get the libaries
built OK, but I need X. For some reason, X starts and then dies with no
obvious error - almost as if I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Back. I have heard that
XFree86-3.3.5 now tries to incorporate PAM - is this so? If this is the
problem - has anybody successfully installed PAM on a Slackware box?
Thanks in advance,
