No it's not.  It's pronounced "six thousand" reading Roman numerals
phonetically.

I know this because I've been working on a Latin compiler.  You know
you're working on a dead language when you have to do addresses in Roman
numerals.

[That's my abstract geek joke of the decade.  I won't apologize for
it!]
