Slackware Woes

Questions:
	Has anyone else experienced problems with Slack ware and DNS?  I
have my DNS servers specified and the COnfig is identical to my other
systems but it still refuses to perform dns lookups, really annoying when
browsing the web or dling tarballs!!!
	Question 2: I installed lilo to the mbr, the computer refuses to
boot off it.  I tried installing it to /, same thing systems returns
insert system disk and push enter to reboot.  So I try copying my kernel
to a floppy like I've done in the past, the lilo floppy dosen't work, and
the kernel floppy asks for a root disk ..... Ideasd?
