Yeah, the ISC's dhcpd is pretty much standard.  It works for all of my
DSL customers (Linux, Win(95|98|2000|NT),Mac,BSD)) no problem. 
Configuration is pretty easy providing you RTFM first.

Oh, and don't forget you have to have a subnet declaration for the
subnet your eth0 interface is on, whether you're providing IP's from
that net or not.

Also, dhcpd 3 is getting close enough to stable to be usable.  I'd still
stick with 2 though unless there's some functionality that you must
have.
