Re: [SCALUG] Programming Perl, 3rd Edition



I just got it yesterday so I haven't really dug too much into it but I
really really like what I have read. It is reorganized, the most
of the chapters have been expanded and shuffled around to make (I
think) more sense. There is about 400 more pages of stuff in
here. Completely new chapters on compiling, unicode
(amonng others), and it looks like the other chapters heavily
revisted. For what I have read it seems to me that they have put a lot of
effort in to giving more examples and clearly explaining concepts where in
the other version they just assume you "got it". It is a $50 book so I
can't say you *have* to get it if you have the 2nd Edition, but I am
really glad I got it.  

Will any other that impress your wife. Probably not :)
