Rants off...late night...sorry

I'm sorry I went off like that. I just got off a 20 minute phone
conversation -- debate -- with my girlfriend, a CS student at UMD, over
the merits and flaws of emacs and vi. We finally came to the agreement
that each editor has it's merits and its flaws and each has a place in the
development environment. Also agreed is that neither editor was intuitive
and that a learning curve must be experienced in order to use either one
of them. This is all so silly, anyway. I don't know why I let myself get
sucked up into such debates. It's all about personal preference and
familiarity anyway. Perhaps an argument like this brought about the point
that vanilla vi didn't have the same functionality as emacs without some
scaring looking macro code brought about the vim editor. (Not as if elisp
looks all that much more attractive than vi macro code.)

Anyway, I'm tired and I'm going to go to sleep. Sweet editor dreams.
