Do you have a symlink /etc/X11/X that points to your correct X server (I
presume that would be /usr/X11/bin/XF86_SVGA)?

Xwrapper starts /etc/X11/X and immediately drops root privileges so many
of the problems associated with running X set-uid root are removed.
