Oracle On Linux (Off Topic?)

Ok here's the deal, I finally got oracle downloaded and unzip into
/usr/local/software/oracle-8.5.1  which is the home dir for user oracle
and group dba...  I tried to follow the howto but it was incomplete and
not for Oracle-8.1.5.... also I've heard that the installer is messed up?
Does anyone know what the next step is to getting oracle up and running?

Thanks for any help!
If needed:
	Mandrake 6.5 w/ kernel 2.3.8
	Stock everything else.
