I'm a light Java developer, and I use jikes and Kaffe. I won't
use anything derived from Sun code.

There aren't any special libraries I use aside from Swing. And
that's not a good library to use for applets.

Java needs a select(2), or poll(2) like mechanism though, and
I've been thinking of writing a special library to do that. Threads are
too much overhead when you're trying to serve 500 connections, and they
cause more trouble than they're worth.

Have fun (if at all possible),
