Heh, that's a lot quicker, though it still reports trouble

# cmp /dev/cdrom /usr/6.1-i386.iso 
/dev/cdrom /usr/6.1-i386.iso differ: char 7117033, line 49843


I just downloaded kernel 2.2.14 and upgraded the Adaptec driver
(aic7xxx) to version 5.1.23 (the newest that is available, AFAIK). 
Maybe I'll have a bit better luck there.
