Encoding is very processor intensive. My 266 has
around a 2.5 minute to everyone 1 minute that needs encoding
rate. The k6 350 is substantially faster, cutting that to
around 1:1. Whether or not it continues to increase at such
a pace for an even faster proc or hits a wall I don't know.
I am willing to bet however that a quad xeon can crank out
mp3's like mad.
