A) Outlook is not as nifty as Notes. In notes I can create an email that
gets sent out to say, 20 people, that has a view in it asking them a whole
ton of things and get that back right into a backend database. You could
setup full workflow and knowledge management solutions for a business in
notes rather than eat someones hardcoded stuff.
B) Notes is not hard to program in. Lotusscript is icky poo, but it
allows for non-programmers (like my dad) to do neat things in notes
without having to break out a c compiler.
C) The web browser is good. Just think, create your views in a html-ish
environs (notes 5) and have them work just as well in the notes client as
they do via a domino server to a remote user. IE: telecommute without the
notes client, just a 128bit encryped browser and a 'net connection. (or a
vpn.. blah blah blah.)
