Ah. I see your point.  I did just boot from a kernel stored in reiserfs, but
what's wrong with having a 10-meg ext2fs partition on boot?  Even in the
event of a system failure (God forbid), a 10M ext2 takes rougly 5 seconds to
check on my 486slc/50 ;)
