Timeout on login screen

I recall damouth commented previously about a timeout when logging in.

That is, if it takes you too long to login, the server drops your
connection.

Well I began to notice this myself here recently and did a bit of
experimentation, and it appears to occur at exactly after 30 seconds.

Unfortunately I can't seem to duplicate this on my local server, but I can
duplicate it connecting to pickled.

I'm wonder if it isn't a ghostbust timer?
