If I remember properly, MS-Stac is only Win95 compatible. NT uses
Stac compression only.

There was a problem in anything before 5.0Ap16, I had to deal with
a customer with this kind of setup, he would connect fine, but after 5-10
mins no data would go thru. I started reading the Patch Release notes and
found this:
----
TR 2023 MAX started sending compressed data to an NT workstation even
though compression was not negotiated.
This fix introduced in: 5.0Ap16
On connections to NT workstations after running for 1 to 5 minutes,
the MAX sometimes started to send compressed data even though
compression was not negotiated.
----
After upgrading the customer was doing much better, but in your
case, since this is ISDN, you might not want to do this because of the
HDLC bug, you might want to try to disable compression at both ends, it
might slow down performance, but its will be more reliable.

I had plenty... if the majority of your customers in Win95 users,
do not disable compression, since without compression a win95 login will
take 30-45 seconds.
