You can use the Ans #1 number under each modem card entry. For instance, let's say on your four trunks, the pilots are 123 4567, 4568, 4569, and 4570. You request the phone company to send you the last digit of the dialed number. Then, under each modem card, you configure in the "Ans #1" slot the last digit of the trunk you want to answer the call - ie. the card with Ans #1 = 7 will answer calls for 123 4567. The Max answers calls as ISDN if you use call-routing and don't specify a default (this is the case with R2), otherwise of course it answers adapatively. We use this method for Maxes with three trunks - two R2 and one ISDN. I get our switching guys to send me two digits from the exchange, configure those in the Ans #1 profile on each modem, and leave the rest as default. That way, the ISDN trunk can take only data calls and my customers don't have to compete will modem calls on the other two trunks. I get the best use of the chassis as well without needing a dedicated box. - -- Josh Bailey (mailto:joshb@xtra.co.nz - GroupWise mailto:j6bw@telecom.co.nz) Internet Network Specialist Voice (DDI): +64-9-355-5923 Telecom Internet Services Voice (Mob): +64-25-514-899 Extension: 93423 (Lvl. 4, 120 Mayoral Dve) Fax: +64-9-355-5260 Private Bag 92028, Auckland, NZ Pager: +64-26-114-448 PGP public key available at http://www.pgp.net/pgpnet/pks-commands.html DISCLAIMER: Viewer discretion is advised. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3ia Charset: noconv iQB1AwUBNF5PiPle+GEe9W4hAQFX4AL9FVvuxTdf1McLAlbLt7LK+ndf4c+ewCxV d0JeTnejcP6FZtis3BkL1dNzcLNoujAKqn3Q/FNm53WOqCNQ0PYQHn7mfHHVM6g5 b7e3x4l4/Vp2hwCEjCXJCx7/S6NJgIiZ =sDAg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.nealis.net/ascend/faq>

References:

(ASCEND) Digital Modem Use

From: "Welland, Chris" <chris.welland@sbil.co.uk>

Prev by Date: (ASCEND) MAX TNT with 56K-modem modulation

Next by Date: Re: (ASCEND) Quake/QW and Pipeline 75 and NAT

Prev by thread: (ASCEND) Digital Modem Use

Next by thread: (ASCEND) Max 4004 72 Modems

Index(es):

Main

Thread
