The 760 Family are much simpler to configure than the 25xx series, mainly
because they don't run a full Cisco IOS. It's a much cut down version,
and a little simpler to follow for the beginner (or someone who doesn't
know IOS). As Philip Vandry suggests, if you are used to IOS, the 760's
can be harder to configure because you say things differently in 760
configs than you do in IOS.
In many cases even the default configs which are generated by their GUI
config program, Cisco Fast Step, are useable with Ascend gear.
Have a look at
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/smbiz/service/configs/isdn/isdn_configs.htm
for some example configs for the 760, so you can get an idea.
Certainly, on this list, Farallon Netopias seem to be firm favourites for
some (and one of my big clients too).
