Re: (ASCEND) Terminator - Using 2nd Ethernet as WAN

The DSLTerminator 100 has 2 slots for WAN cards and the 10/100 eth ports are LAN
only. You need WAN cards to make this product do what you want.

Lucent #
DMX-SL-T1 4 port T1 interface (you can upgrade to 8 T1s)
DMX-SL-E1 4 port E1 interface (you can upgrade to 8 E1s)
DMX-SL-DS3ATM DS-3 ATM interface
DMX-SL-DS3FR DS-3 Frame Relay Interface

For those of you that do not know, the DSLTerminator is used by an ISP to
terminate DSL traffic from a DSL provider's dslam equipment. More info is at

Is anybody here using a Terminator? I have one sitting here for eval. I'd
like to use the 2nd FE port as a WAN port - that's what Bell Canada seems to
want to give me. The terminator docs that I've read so far don't indicate
that I can do so.

Any thoughts?

TIA,
