(ASCEND) TNT intermittently stops sending RADIUS packets

Has anybody seen something similar, or knows about a solution?

Our Max TNT (running 7.0.26 since today, and 7.0.22 before) services
quite a few E1 (ISDN PRI) lines with incoming modem (analog) and ISDN
calls, all with PPP and RADIUS validation.

After running a few hours, it starts reporting

ASCEND: Radius client timeout (code=1) for user xxxxxxx

for all incoming digital calls, without sending RADIUS packets for
these calls.

At the same time, analog calls are validated correctly using RADIUS.

After reporting 180 such errors (with only slight variations), it goes
back to normal for a few hours.
