(ASCEND) 18-, 24- and 30 port modem cards
The TAOS 8.0.1 release notes talk about 18, 24 and 30 port modem cards for
the Max 6000. Here is a quote:
> Dual CSMX slot card support
> Units affected: Max 6000
> Introduced in: 8.0.1
>
> The CSMX slot card provides modem (V.90) functionality. In this release,
> you can mix CSM1 and CSM3 slot cards in the same MAX 6000 units with the
> same version of TAOS.
Then it goes on talking about how the old modem cards look like in the
configuration menus and then it says:
> For 18-modem cards, the new CSMX status menu looks like the following:
> [picture]
> For 24-modem cards, the new CSMX status menu looks like the following:
> [picture]
> For 30-modem cards, the new CSMX status menu looks like the following:
> [picture]
I don't see any information about those cards on the web site, it still
only talks about 8, 12 and 16 port cards. Also my reseller does not have
any information about them (their answer was that the cards are probably
for some newer Max model, but hey, it clearly talks about the Max 6000
here).
Can anyone provide more info? Are they available yet? Will I be able to
put f.e. four 16 port cards (what I have right now) and two 30 port cards
in a single box to get a total of 124 modems which would cover all the 120
ports on 4 EuroISDN PRI's? Right now I can only use 3 PRI's because the
maximum number of modems I can put in a Max 6000 is 96 (6x16). I will soon
have to buy additional modem cards and I'd rather buy the 30 port ones if
they are available.
