You are probably waiting too long too start your PPP negotiations.

MAXen and TNTs attempt to figure out what you are trying to do.
They wait for PPP to start for a short while. If it doesn't start in a few 
seconds, they kick in terminal server. The 'Login' prompt is a terminal 
server prompt.

If you dial in using a simple terminal emulator, you will see the
same prompt. If you want to disable the terminal server prompt, change the 
terminal server profile to 'disable'.

You probably see this prompt because you enabled terminal server
after dialing and you didn't hit F7 quickly enough.
