Midnight Commander

How do you get Midnight Commander to run under RedHat 5.2? This is all I get:

   [root@ /root]# tkmc: error in loading shared libraries
   /usr/lib/libtcl.so: undefined symbol: stat

When I go to RedHat.com and search for an update of that library, all 
I find is i386, Alpha, and Sparc versions. I've got a Pentium, so 
what do I do?
