RE: [TCLUG:7705] compaq deskpro 450



Quick warning with what I got burned with: On quite a few of these older
486/Pentium Deskpro's they have an onboard QVision chipset - which XFree86
does not support, and I have yet to get any to work in VGA16/Mono mode. So -
they may make a good mini-server, but a poor workstation.

Does anyone have an idea what kind of drive controller an old Compaq
Deskpro 450 uses and how to get Linux / FreeBSD to see it?  It claims to
be some sort of AMD controller.  Does anyone know how to talk to it?
