	A regular old luser ( I mean user) ?

Well, I don't have much need for it, I use gvim. My wife on the
other hand, who is a recovering mac-in-girl. She sees the apple logo and
immediately begins sporting the deer-in-the-headlights look. (although it
does have a couple of cool programs she used to use like Studio Vision and
Finale...which she has forgotten how to run..... I digress)

My K62-350 with 128M ram is just nifty with it, my laptop with the
same specs except 64M ram supprts it quite well. I do know that since KDE
requires quite a bit of ram itself, running SO and KDE is something that
someone with sparse ram would not want to do.

The import/export features for Word 95 and 97 are quite necessary in
today's luddite world. People send Word(tm) documents in their e-mails
(oblivious to the fact that it's a closed proproetary format) and are not
capable of converting it to a more open format. Thus my wife needs to read
the files, thus the uses SO. Perfect, no, but when the need arises to fire
up the big ol' whale of an app, it fits the bill.

If you have an S3 shipset, it may be a bug that can easily be
remedied with the latest version. It was using a since deprecated glibc API
and thus since the API is gone, it dies.

Actually, the conversion utilities have improved a slight bit, stuff
for M$Work$ files and the like....
