LILO requires the linux root drive (where your kernel is) to be within the
first 1024 sectors of the drive.. what you will proabably have to do is
create your root partition as a primary before teh first 1024.

try this configuration.

/dev/hda1	linux  (bootable)	1gig
/dev/hda2	win98  			5gig
/dev/hda3	extended (rest of drive)

/dev/hda4	linux-swap (whatever)
/dev/hda5	linux /usr		2gig
/dev/hda6	linux /home		2gig
/dev/hda7	vfat (for your shared thing) rest of drive

you can scale the drive sizes if you like, but try and keep the first 2
partitions under 8gig.
