Re: [TCLUG:11578] tape backup strategies



travan tapes are not very reliable, in that you want to roate more
frequently than say a 4mm, 8mm, or DLT.  I would say no more than 10-20
writes per tape.. (that's being generous)  also check out amanda tape
backup, it's just as cool as BRU, but its free, and uses tar/dump to do
backups.. manual recovery is possible without amanda installed
