When X/KDE doesn't like me anymore.

Howdy all...

I'm running KDE via SuSE 6.1 on a Dual p-11 450 128m Ram machine.

Been using linux for quite some time but only since I switched to
SuSE have I experienced this problem.

Normally when X decides to Die it dumps me back to the console..
No hard no foul. With KDE 1.1.2 When X dies it dies.

I don't get dumped back to the console, and even if I kill all the PIDs I am
still treated to the last image that was on the screen. Often I can restart
KDE over the one that died but when I leave that version I am back to the
screen (Locked of course) that I saw when it last died.. I'm sort of
confused. Nothing seems out of wack in the .X.err file except this.

When starting I get

KFM is already running
KFM is already running
KFM seems to be crashed !!!!!! Running new KFM !!!!!!!!!!!!
KFM seems to be crashed !!!!!! Running new KFM !!!!!!!!!!!!

Then everything seems just fine...

I'm still digging around the startx scripts but any other ideas would be
greatly appreciated
