offline mode for pine

I use pine as in imap client. Is there a way to tell it to go offline. It
gets messed up when I'm replying to an e-mail and my dial on demand
connection goes off and pine thinks the connection is still there. Is also
triggeres (or keeps up) the link needlessly.
