I'm very happy with my Asus P5A which is a super socket 7 motherboard for
K6 cpus. There's a kernel patch for udma to work on it (get motherboard
that linux supports udma for if you use ide). 

Generitc pci NE2000 nic worked perfectly for be with rh5.1, 5.2, 6.0
