Y2K, linux and bios

I just downloaded ami2000.com from www.amibios.com to test if my bios is
y2k compatible. It says that it failed the year 2000 turn-over test. Is
this bad? What will it do to my linux box? I think the test failure
means that the bios can't be set to years over 2000 -- can I just use
ntpdate to override that on startup? Or does this mean it can't deal
with the New Year's party, but once it gets settled in the new millenium
it will be fine.
