kernel too big
I just installed redhat 6.0 an a computer. The kernel it came with
(2.2.5-15) is 1549345 bytes. I recompiled the kernel and it is now 499670
bytes. When I add the line for the new kernel in lilo.conf and run lilo I
get
Kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.5recompile is too big
Why is the 1.5 meg default kernel not too big and my smaller one too big.
How can I fix this?
This is a 486dx with 24 meg ram.
Thanks,
Ben
