Well, my monitor isn't spewing smoke yet out of the ventilation holes,
if that's what you're asking ;-) I'm not sure, but I think it may be a
little bit easier on my eyes (but that is something that varies by
person) It is most definitely usable (well, at least on Sony Multiscan
100ES displays ;-)

I would have to recommend that anyone currently working on graphics at
1280x1024 try it out, as the aspect ratio is correct (well, very near
correct). For instance, I was playing around with PostScript stuff the
other day (when I was running at 1280) and found that when I rotated a
rectangular box 45 degrees, the corner was no longer at a right angle on
my screen..

Also, if you need a desktop that is 'wider' (in order to fit that one
last Gnome applet onto the panel, perhaps?), you may want to give it a
try. Of course, you have to give up a little height.

Otherwise, if you're just one of those people that needs order in
his/her life (and having square pixels is a must in maintaining that
order), you may want to give it a shot ;-)
