Actually Oracle works very well when driven via ColdFusion. When
CF for Linux comes out in a few weeks, I will have a complete production
Linux solution on 2 RHL 6.0 boxes; production webserver = Apache 1.3.6,
production database = Oracle 8.0.5, and production application
server = ColdFusion 4.5. Also, two reasons for running Oracle, 1, I am
and Oracle dba, and 2, oracle is a very robust database. I am able to hide
lots of programming logic from my web developers by coding functions and
procedures in Oracle's PL/SQL language. Thus, they only need to simple
taskes like select, insert, and delete, and I let Oracle do all the
complicated taskes where it can most efficiently be done.
