Re: [TCLUG:8308] Problems configuring an ISA Pnp Ethernet card

Hello,

By disabling PnP, you are only messing with hardware settings. You will
sill be able to use the card under Windows9x, but now it will try to
use the settings the card has, instead of PnP settings.
I said 'try' to use the cards settings, because those settings might be
in use by other hardware. In that case, you will have to change the
settings on your NIC, or the device that is using them already.

Some common settings, if I remember correctly, are.

IRQ = 10
I/O address = 300

twisted pair only
TPO

Both OS's will use those settings then.

You should be able to run "Add New Hardware" to find he NIC again under
Windows9x.

I forget the command to find your NIC under Linux (I am sill a
"newbe").
