transactions per what?

Hmm. lets say the average transaction takes about 3 seconds.  The average
user makes 2 transactions every 15 seconds.

.13 tansactions/second/user

400 transactions at once. all 3 seconds.. 8000 transactions/minute.

133.3 transactions a second at 3sec ... 1025 users.

And I think 3 seconds for a 32proc system to do a database lookup is
*slow* and conserative.
