Re: [TCLUG:12644] mouse woes

Okay, folks. Here's the thing on the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer.

1) Yes, it's an optical mouse. This is nothing new. What is new about this
mouse is that it works on just about any surface (it has some complex chips
to figure stuff out). IIRC, those old mice had to have a special pad, and even
then were not that good.

2) No, it doesn't flicker. It does admit a constant red glow, which can be
annoying when watching a DVD in the dark, but it isn't too bad, if you take it
off of a surface, it "dims". This light is also good during Quake games. Just
pick up the mouse, blind your opponent, and get a good frag in.

3) No mouseball! Again, it works on any surface, and yes, it works really
smooth.

4) It has 5 buttons, and a wheel. In X though, you can only use 3 buttons
and the wheel. (At least, that's all I've figured out how to use)

5) It's USB or PS/2 - both work great.

Any questions?
