	Yeah, but if the power goes out while you're on it, it's nice to
still be able to see what you're doing.  If you aren't on it, the
monitor should be off, or be in 'sleep' mode and not sucking much power
anyway.

	In server machines, leaving the monitor on the UPS is usually
pointless.  On desktop machines, it can save you a lot of frustration
and confusion when the power does go out.

	Yeah, yeah, I know.  If the power goes out, a smart UPS will
tell your machine to shutdown.  Chances are though that if you're
working on it, you have stuff you want to make sure is saved properly
and things.
