Re: [TCLUG:3730] Anyone Alpha savvy?

In your XF86Config file usually found in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config.
There
are entries that describe your monitor and video card.

Look in the XF86Config file for the block that is labeled "Section
Screen"
You might have more than one of these. Locate the one for the DEC_TGA it
should
be label such in the "Driver" part of it or before it.

In that section there is a "Subsection Display" it may or may not have a
Section
called "Depth" in it. Set the depth to any of 8, 16,24,32 as mentioned
in the output of
X. There could be more than one "Subsection Display" in each "Section
Screen". Ensure
that none of the "Depth" fields in those sections are not 1 of
8,16,24,32.

If they are already set to one or the other you can try changing them.
If none work here
is a FAQ that you might have already seen !

You could possibly get more information from the group that maintains
it.

Hope this helps
