Agreed, they might one day have a product to compare (the 12000?). Currently
they don't (my opinion too :-).

But Matt has a valid opinion, he didn't say you *can't* compare. Maybe you
didn't like how he replied to _you_, in that case you could have made a
private
reply to him...give him chance to explain.
On the list, we discuss stuff like this, but it's not meant to be a formal
ask-Ascend list, that's what Customer Service/Support is for. We should
discuss
merits and features and details, not "tone of voice".

Hmm. It doesn't seem likely to happen when you have already decided that a
mid-end Cisco can compare to the GRF. Most other people compare it to the
high end stuff and even stuff that they are still yet to make....I have
to admit that I would smile too when told that a mid-end Cisco compares to
the GRF *UNLESS* you're making an apples/oranges comparison...

This is NOT customer service. This is a discussion list. We are mostly
engineers, not Customer Service representatives. You *are* allowed to
disagree - all we ask is to avoid profanity and personal attacks.

True. Conclusion: Everyone has bugs.....even Cisco ;)

On what terms : performance/features/price?

And that was.....?

Now let's all raise our eyebrows...WHAT WAS IT ???????

Aha, so it's a mid-end Cisco....getting closer....

Yes, it tells me that they want to sell you a Cisco for whatever application
you were looking....maybe it *IS* the best fit in that example. Maybe a
niche that we don't even compete in?
"They resell Ascend equipment", so they presumably also think the Ascend
stuff
fits better in other cases....

I want to say something like "lighten up Joseph 8^)", but then I might get
fired too....
