RE: (ASCEND) 4048 Reboots again!!!!

John,
Did you get a resolution to your problem? Our boxes are continuing to
reset, which Ascend has confirmed is a bug associated to AppleTalk. My own
assessment based on customer experience, the problem increased as more of my
customers starting using ARA 3.0 tunneling through IP. I can almost
guarantee that the ARA 3.0 client connections are reeking havoc on Ascends
code.
Ascend has given us 6.1.24e20 which slowed the frequency of resets, but the
MAXen continue to reset about every 4-5 days. We're now waiting for another
reset so I can send the coredump image to their engineers.

Kirk

Tech support is getting back to me. They say the max seems that it
is being
shut off. I disconnected it from the ups and plugged it directly
into a
wall outlet and it still reboots. I'm running the default protocols
and
haven't changed a thing since september of last year. It started
rebooting
in november and as time goes by, the reboots are more frequent. I
did get a
code 51 a few times which I think means out of resources. Last night
it was
rebooting while it was booting. I think I'll try a new power cord.
