It depends on what type of internal modem it is. Because there are so manyWell, I'd just like to say thanks to everyone. I finally got my connection to the UofM up and running. It seems I was trying to instantiate the connection from the wrong place. I can finally remove that Win95 partition that I had been using for downloads and go entirely Linux! I've dropped the FAT and I'm runnin' lean!
differnet types (PnP, software controlled, Jumpers, Dip switched, etc.) I have
always gone with external modems. Plus if you ever want to disconnect real fast
or the modem locks up, you just flip a switch on the external modem. That's just
