I would like to encourage you to re-think building your own!

My friend Jeff, and myself built our own Machines About a year ago.

The only thing that gave us trouble was not having support for our AGP
Matrox G200 graphic cards. Yet, shortly after we finished SuSE had the
drivers for free (we were looking into a 3rd Party solution) !

From our experience, the three components you have to worry about are
graphics card, sound cards, and modems. Every thing else just works,
and in most cases those three also just work.

We started a little home page as a central place to share information
between each other, but are slowly improving it (Jeff has been doing
most of the improving). It does not focused on Linux, but I think a
section that did would be a good idea, Hum.....
(PS. we purchased 90% of our products on-line.)

Again, Building a machine was a fun and interesting learning
experience. I reccamond it to any one.
