I'd go even one further - most systems also beep if you remove all the RAM
(only 3 beeps?). I've had hardware that still didn;t respond or beep after
all the cards were removed, but no memory usually upsets them. I guess BIOS
checks the RAM before the cards? Check your pc speaker is still connected if
no memory doesn;t produce beeps...

If your not getting any beeps after removing all cards & RAM you're probably
in new motherboard territory ;(
