RE: [TCLUG:4826] Hardware upgrade
If you have a standard "Baby-AT" style case, I would strongly suggest the
FIC 503+ motherboard and a AMD K6-2 processor. If you stick with a 300 or
350Mhz processor, you should be able to get the combo for around $150.
I run it with a 350, but I bought it in November, so they were more
expensive at the time. The motherboard has two DIMM slots, and 4 SIMM slots,
so you could use your EDO for now, and get SDRAM later, if you like. The
only down-side is that with the EDO RAM you won't be able to run at 100Mhz
memory bus speed, which is a HUGE kick in performance.
