Intranet Web Server and DNS

Linux server newbie question.

I am setting up a web & dhcp server where I work. This is for fun, not part
of my job. The web server will run Apache and serve up a site that I created
just for the office. The site does have links to the outside world, but is
primarily for information dissemiation and is not visible to the outside
world. Even though this server will never be available to the world outside
the office, I would like to give it a server/site name such as
intra.myofficename.com instead of an IP address so that it's easier for
employees to remember.

The NFS is Novell/NT and everything besides dhcp and Apache is on other
servers. My question: Is there a way to give the site a name
(intra.myofficename.com) without setting up a DNS server within the office?
If not, will a caching DNS server fit the bill? I've read a few of the
how-tos but have been unable to understand how to associate the site name and
the IP address. Any assistance that you can provide is appreciated. Thank
you.
