Re: [TCLUG:5737] Anybody running Quake3?

AFAIK I don't need libGL.so because I'm using libMesaVoodooGL.so.3.1. The
Quake3 docs say that it will try to load libGL.so first but if it doesn't
find that it will try libMesaVoodooGL.so.3.1. It seems strange that they
do it in this order since it seems to me that libMesaVoodooGL seems to be
the preferred method.

Does it look to you guys like the program is failing while loading
XFree86-VidModeExtension? It looks like VidModeExtension is a part of
XFree86 for switching video modes (resolutions?) but I wasn't able to find
out much about it on the web except for a list of who coded it. Anybody
know where I can find more info?

BTW: I can run the 3dFX test program just fine...I'll bet the problem's
got something to do with my XFree86 install. One strange thing is that
when I'm running X I sometimes get error messages about MetroX...I don't
know what *that's* about.

Thanks for any leads,
Brady

PS: I ordered Redhat 6.0 and a new harddrive so this problem will probably
go away in a week or two but I wanna play quaaaaake now dammit...
